Over the Easter weekend we visited Gonarezhou National Park in the south west of Zimbabwe.

Gonarezhou justifiably means The Place of Elephants. It's also famous for the massive sandstone Chilojo Cliffs above the Runde River.

We travelled with our friends, Ioana, David and Shona and camped in the Park at Chipinda Pools campsite. Then spent the next couple of days driving round the park in my new toy, a Toyota Pardo. We were very early in the season so not only was everything still green, but the rivers were full and therefore un-fordable so we were restricted to the northern section of the park. No matter, there was enough to see in the couple of days we had. On the way back home to Harare we stopped of at the Great Zimbabwe ruins at Masvingo.
