2015 - Zimbabwe and Botswana

In summer 2015 we went on a road trip round Zimbabwe, visiting Matopos, Victoria Falls, Chobe National Park in Botswana, then back to Harare via Masvingo and the Great Zimbabwe ruins. Then four weeks later we returned to Botswana to visit the Okavango Delta.

In July 2016 my sister and family came out to visit us in Zimbabwe and we went on a road trip around Zim, visiting Matobo National Park in the Matopos Hills near Bulawayo and Victoria Falls, before crossing over into northern Botswana to visit the Chobe National Park. On the return journey we stopped off at Great Zimbabwe, the ruins of a huge city built between the 11^th and 15^th centuries and accommodating 18,000 people at its peak.

In August we returned to Botswana to visit the Okavango Delta, which is a naturalist paradise. We stayed at Mapula Lodge in the north east of the delta only reachable after a 45 minute flight in a light aircraft from Maun.
